The Green Bay Packers need a veteran wide receiver
The Green Bay Packers’ current projected starters at wide receiver are coming into their second season in the NFL. The Packers could add another pass catcher in the early rounds of April’s draft, but that won’t help with the experience problem for the unit. Quarterback Jordan Love needs a veteran wide receiver in his first year starting. One NFL writer named the Packers logical trade options for two veteran wide receivers.
Cody Benjamin with CBS Sports recently published a piece on 14 NFL trade candidates. Benjamin linked the Green Bay Packers to All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and former Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson. They hinted Robinson could be had for cheap after his lack of production with the Los Angeles Rams compared to his success in Chicago. Benjamin named the Packers a team to land Hopkins, as the Arizona Cardinals need to save cap space:
“One of the most obvious trade candidates of the offseason, Hopkins remains an elite technician when healthy, but he’s missed 15 games the last two years and is due almost $30M at age 31 this upcoming season. Kyler Murray needs weapons like anyone, but 2023 is a true transition year for Arizona as Jonathan Gannon remakes the culture. Marquise Brown is also in tow and eligible for an extension, and Hopkins, whose exit would save an instant $8.9M, still profiles as a borderline No. 1 for a contender.”
The Packers should try and make a trade

Both candidates will cost the already light-in-the-wallet Packers some cash if they can pull off a trade. However, the Packers should consider bringing in a veteran this season even if the overall roster is not a Super Bowl contender. Love will have ups and downs as he starts this season. Having a veteran playmaker should help his transition.

The Packers are not “linked” to anything. This is just one sportswriter’s opinion of what they SHOULD do. Extremely misleading headline.
