The Green Bay Packers expected to struggle at times this season. Growing pains are part of ushering in a new era for any team. However, after starting 2-1 the team was optimistic about this offense and what the team could accomplish this year.
Since that 2-1 start the team has suffered four straight losses and are looking for success in any facet of the game. Recent events around the NFL have instigated some questions regarding one of the Packers coaches possibly leaving for a well-known opportunity.
Green Bay Packers Coach Rich Bisaccia Was Asked About
On Wednesday the Las Vegas Raiders fired both Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. Of course, Bisaccia came over from Vegas to the Packers after he was briefly the interim head coach.
Many thought that Bisaccia was a prime candidate to take over the position, however, the Raiders decided to go in another direction. That direction backfired for the team and upon learning about the firing, reporters asked Bisaccia about a possible reuinion:
“I’ll let you know in January,” Bisaccia said with a smile on Thursday.
“I’m trying to dominate the controllables in my life,” Bisaccia said. “I think it’s kind of a thing we all try to do. We try to teach our kids that. I don’t wish anybody any ill. To be honest with you, I’d walked away from that situation a long time ago. Probably the first time I stood at this podium, I really distanced myself from what happened there.
The Packers’ special teams coordinator, who is in his second season, wasn’t about to gloat over McDaniels’ firing. Instead he took the highroad and focused on what the present.
Bisaccia will certainly be an interesting name to watch this off-season. His reputation has been growing throughout the league for years. Many were shocked that he came to Green Bay as a the special teams coach. Is was widely figured to take on a larger role at with the next team he joined.
Packers fans certainly can rejoice in the fact that he will be in town for the remainder of this season, after that though, nothing is guaranteed.
