The Green Bay Packers have made a decision to move on from four-time MVP and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In 2020, general manager Brian Gutekunst made the decision to move up in the first round to draft Jordan Love. Now, the Packers organization believes that Love is ready, and, after a down year by Rodgers, they are poised to transition to the younger, more mobile quarterback. Rodgers has been the starter in Green Bay for 15 years. It has been a great run filled with amazing memories. However, one NFL insider believes Gutekunst is simply trying to exact revenge on Rodgers.
Mike Florio Claims the Green Bay Packers Front Office Is Trying to Get Revenge

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Gutekunst is dragging out the trade process in an attempt to get back at Rodgers for past drama:
“Frankly, it feels personal at this point, and that’s no surprise. Rodgers reportedly wanted Packers G.M. Brian Gutekunst to be fired a couple of years ago, something Rodgers never really tried to refute. Now, two years later, Gutekunst has a chance to exact a little revenge — and so he is.”
Did Rodgers ever want Gutekunst fired? That has never been confirmed and is simply a rumor. That being said, both Rodgers and Gutekunst have said that they met after the infamous summer of 2021 and improved their relationship. Florio conveniently forgot to mention that part.
Frankly, this just seems like an unnecessary dig at the Packers and Rodgers from a Vikings fan with a platform. There is no substance to this idea. The fact of the matter is that Gutekunst wants what is best for the Packers organization and Rodgers wants to play football for the New York Jets. Looking at it from any other standpoint is irresponsible and insulting.
