Green Bay Packers: Rasheed Walker somehow named as 1 of 10 offensive free agents PFF says should get paid

It is a pretty well-known fact that the Green Bay Packers are not going to be bringing back many of their own pending free agents. Romeo Doubs, for example, is going to get more money on the open market than the Packers would be willing to pay him. Additionally, Green Bay boasts young and cheap talent at the position anyway, so it appears a foregone conclusion that Doubs will not be back.

And while it is going to be disappointing to see Doubs go after four productive seasons, there are other pending free agents who fans will not be so disappointed to see go.

Among those is left tackle Rasheed Walker, who has been the starter at the position for the last three years.

Green Bay Packers left tackle Rasheed Walker expected to get $20 million a year

Walker, as a former seventh round pick, far exceeded his value in Green Bay during his three years as the Packers starting left tackle. That being said, he never performed consistently enough to the point where head coach Matt LaFleur named him the starter in training camp. There was always competition for the starting job.

In 2025, Walker had arguably the worst season of his young career. He was among the worst run-blocking linemen in the NFL and allowed the most pressures of any Packers lineman.

All this being said, PFF listed Walker as one of the ten offensive free agents they believe deserve to get paid this off-season:

“The former seventh-round pick has performed far above the expectations of his draft stock. As a starter for the past three seasons, Walker has excelled as a pass blocker, producing a 77.0 PFF pass-blocking grade, a mark that places him 17th among qualifying left tackles.

“A $20 million annual price tag may seem a bit rich when compared to similar deals like Alaric Jackson’s three-year, $56.3 million extension last offseason. However, the cost at the tackle position continues to be one of the NFL’s highest, as Walker’s projection puts him just outside the top 20.”

As one can see, Walker is predicted to get a contract that is worth over $20 million a year. There is absolutely no way Green Bay is going to extend him an offer like that. Instead, they will likely be going forward with 2024 NFL first round pick Jordan Morgan as their left tackle (which was the plan when they drafted him in the first place).
