The Green Bay Packers have plenty of work that they need to do in the offseason. Among these things is improving the wide receiver room. Christian Watson will be out for most, if not all, of the 2025 NFL season after tearing his ACL against the Chicago Bears in Week 18. Furthermore, Green Bay’s other top-three wide receivers all struggled with drops this past year.
Additionally, the Packers need to find better defensive players who are better fits in Jeff Hafley‘s scheme. The front seven, while among the league leaders in sacks as a unit, were near the bottom of the league in pressure rate. Furthermore, the cornerback room faces serious questions as the future of Jaire Alexander with the franchise is in doubt.
The Baltimore Ravens Have Emerged as a Possible Trade Destination for Green Bay Packers Linebacker Quay Walker

One position that the Packers need to take a close look at heading into 2025 is the linebacker position. Rookie phenom Edgerrin Cooper was easily the best player at the position on the team and has a bright future ahead of him.
However, Isaiah McDuffie is about to hit free agency and Eric Wilson is not a starting-caliber player. Former first round pick Quay Walker, on whom the team has yet to make a fifth-year option decision, has been wildly inconsistent.
In a recent article posted by Bleacher Report, NFL analyst Kristopher Knox suggests that the Baltimore Ravens may look to trade for the unpopular linebacker to replenish their own group.
Evan Massey of Sports Illustrated wrote of the suggestion:
“Walker could be an intriguing trade candidate this offseason. He has underperformed so far with the Packers and the right offer could entice them to move on.
“As for the Ravens, they have long been known as a great linebacker destination. They have build up many great linebackers and always seem to have talent at the position. Walker could reach his full potential with a change of scenery if Green Bay is open to the idea.”
Walker had 102 tackles in just 13 games this past season, but had a missed tackling rate of 7.3%, the highest of his career. Perhaps a change of scenery would do him good, but there is still on glaring issue regarding this suggestion from Green Bay’s perspective.
The Green Bay Packers May Need Quay Walker in 2025

As mentioned previously, the Packers already have plenty of needs that they need to address this offseason. Additionally, McDuffie will be a free agent and can sign anywhere. Wilson, as previously stated, is not really a starting-quality player and is entering his age-31 season.
Trading away Walker would leave the linebacker cupboard incredibly dry. While Green Bay may choose not to pick up his option for 2026, there is no question that they will need him in 2025.
Perhaps his second season in Hafley’s system will see him improve and be the kind of player the Packers hoped he would be when they drafted him in the first round in 2022.
Or maybe it won’t. Regardless, he is going to be an affordable and solid option at the position in Green Bay next season. Beyond that, who knows?
