Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a game on Sunday he could very well want to forget about. He completed 23-of-39 passes for 273 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He threw a 27-yard pick-six to Kirby Joseph in the second quarter right before halftime.
Detroit won the game over Green Bay Packers 24-14 and the Lions are 7-1 this season and the Packers are 6-3 this season. Love was on the injury report leading up to this game because he had a groin injury last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Acknowledges He Is Making Too Many Mistakes
This season, the star quarterback has completed 61.3% of his passes for 1,820 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. What is alarming is that he throwing way too many interceptions this season. Ten interceptions are a lot for the first nine games of the 2024 NFL regular season.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Praises Detroit Lions For Cleaner Effort
After the game, Love spoke to the media. He said to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“Putting the ball in jeopardy way too many times. It’s definitely something I have to clean up.”
It will be one of the things that Jordan Love will focus on during the bye week. The Chicago Bears will be the next opponent for the Packers on the road after the bye week. Jordan Love performed better in the second half of last season and hopefully the same will transpire.
Love Also Doesn’t Overlook the Loss
Even though the Detroit Lions might be a better football right now than the Packers, Love did not overlook the fact that Green Bay is still a good football team heading into the bye week. The star quarterback said to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“We are still a really good team.”
They have had some key mistakes in the offense outside of the Love turnovers. It will be something that the Packers will need to fix to reach another level this season. Green Bay would be a playoff team if the season ended today. The goal for them to make the postseason and go on a run is no doubt within reach.
