“The Packers Will Need To Add Multiple Pass Rushers”: Green Bay Packers Land EDGE Rusher In Latest Fansided Mock Draft

One of the Green Bay Packers’ biggest weaknesses this season was trying to sack the quarterback. There is no doubt that finding pass rushers will be a glaring need for this franchise this offseason.

No one on this football team recorded 10 sacks this season. There is a chance that the Green Bay Packers will revamp the defensive line this offseason.

Lombardiavenue.com Writer Mike Luciano Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Ole Miss Rebels Edge Rusher Princely Umanmielen In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Lombardiavenue.com writer Mike Luciano created a three-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers. With the 23rd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he has Green Bay selecting edge rusher Princely Umanmielen from the Ole Miss Rebels. Luciano said of this selection:

“With Preston Smith gone and everyone other than Rashan Gary looking incredibly average on the defensive line, the Packers will need to add multiple pass rushers in the draft to even stand a chance of having a competitive unit in 2025 and beyond. A veteran speed rusher with 25.5 collegiate sacks, Umanmielen is a demon for tackles who can’t handle speed.

Umanmielen is never going to be a terrific run-defender, but the presence of Gary and Kenny Clark can make up for that. Umanmielen’s speed, bend, and violence as a pass rusher are phenomenal, so much so that there’s a good chance he could keep pace with Abdul Carter in the sack department early in his career.”

This past season with the Ole Miss Rebels, he recorded 37 tackles, 10.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. This would be a good choice for the Green Bay Packers. Princely Umanmielen is a player that could help the Packers pass rushing department immediately even though they need help at cornerback as well.

    Scouting Report

NFLdraftbuzz.com listed a scouting report for the star defensive player from the Ole Miss Rebels. Some of the strengths are as follows:

“Explosive first step paired with advanced hand usage – consistently beats tackles with a lightning-quick get-off and violent hand strikes that create immediate separation, masters the art of cornering – shows exceptional ankle flexion and hip mobility when bending the edge, routinely getting under offensive tackles’ punch, and a devastating spin move that would make Dwight Freeney proud – setup and timing are already pro-caliber, especially effective as a counter when tackles overcommit outside.”

Some of his weaknesses are as follows:

“Still developing his power rush moves – needs to convert speed to power more consistently and develop a reliable bull rush to keep tackles honest and can get washed out against double teams in the run game – needs to add functional strength to better anchor against combo blocks.”

Comparing Princely Umanmielen to Dwight Freeney is a good sign. Freeney was a very good player in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts. The Green Bay Packers need a pass rusher who can disrupt a football game and Rashan Gary can’t do it by himself.
