The Green Bay Packers didn’t have a game this weekend as week 14 was their bye week. However, if the Packers win out, week 13 significantly increased their playoff odds. Sitting at 5-8, the Packers only trail the Lions (6-7), Seahawks (7-6), and Giants (7-5-1) for that #7 seed. If the Packers win the rest of their games this season they have more than a 50% chance to make the playoffs.
Packers’ Updated Playoff Odds If They Win Out
According to the New York Times NFL Playoff Simulations, the Packers have updated playoff odds of 51% if they win out. The Packers’ final four games come against:
- Vs Los Angeles Rams in Week 15
- @ Miami Dolphins in Week 16
- Vs Minnesota Vikings in Week 17
- Vs Detroit Lions in Week 18
Of the three games we were tracking this weekend that impacted the Packers’ playoff odds, two of the three prevailed in Green Bay’s favor. The Philadelphia Eagles took care of the New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers upset the Seattle Seahawks. The only game that didn’t go in Green Bay’s favor was Detroit upsetting the Minnesota Vikings. This is a current screenshot of the playoff seeds in the NFC:
For the rest of the season Green Bay fans will be rooting against the Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and New York Giants. The only team Green Bay will face head-to-head during the remaining four games will be Detroit.
In Week 15 the Detroit Lions will travel to New York to play the Jets. The New York Giants will travel to Washington to take on the Commanders. Lastly, the Seattle Seahawks will host the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football.
