Multiple Former Green Bay Packers Players Sound Off on NFL Officiating During Chiefs-Texans Game

The Green Bay Packers may be eliminated from the NFL Playoffs, but there are plenty of other teams still competing in the Divisional Round. The first of this weekend’s postseason games is being played by the defending back-to-back Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs and the upstart Houston Texans.

Unfortunately, as seems to be the case whenever Kansas City plays, the Chiefs have been the beneficiaries of some highly questionable calls (or non-calls) by the referees.

And several former Packers players have some thoughts on the state of NFL officiating.

Throughout the course of the game, there have multiple calls (or non-calls) by the referees that have benefitted Kansas City, who is looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls and the second team to win three league championships in a row (the Packers have done it twice).

As the contest between the Chiefs and Texans has gone on, multiple calls have gone against Houston, which has drawn a great deal of backlash from fans on social media.

Here is an example of such a play:

Congrats NFL, you’ve made the Chiefs most unlikable team in history. They don’t even care how obvious it is at this point. pic.twitter.com/dYadET5AEy

This particular play, as well as multiple others, have led former Packers players to go off on NFL officiating:

Flopping needs to be addressed in the offseason

As of the timing of this writing, the Chiefs look like they are going to win 23-12 with less than a minute to play in the fourth quarter. They will advance to the AFC Championship to face the winner of the Baltimore Ravens versus Buffalo Bills matchup.

One has to wonder if that game will be called a little bit more fairly.
