Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was rewarded with a contract extension this offseason after his 2023 performance. Love entering his second full season as the starting quarterback, he will look to help this franchise reach new heights.
It will be interesting to see what Love will do for an encore. He can not afford to get hurt considering the backup quarterback situation they have.
Pro Football Focus Predicts That Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Will Have a 4,500-Yard Passing Season
Pro Football Focus’s Trevor Sikkema made a bold prediction for each NFL team entering the 2024 season. For the Packers, he thinks that the former Utah State Aggies quarterback will throw for 4,500 passing yards this season. Sikkema said:
“Making this “Jordan Love 5,000-yard passing season” was tempting because that headline is slick. But that is just so many passing yards, and the Packers may not need him to throw that much for as good as the team could be. Love has one of the most diverse groups of pass catchers in the league — maybe the most diverse. He took a few weeks in 2023 to grow his confidence, which we saw flourish late into the regular season and postseason. If he can hit the ground running to start 2024, he’ll eclipse 4,500 passing yards and perhaps even make a run at 5,000.”
Maybe Sikkema should have just stuck with the 5,000-yard passing bold prediction for the 2024 season instead of just going with the 4,500-yard passing. It is possible that Jordan Love could eclipse 5,000 yards this season depending on a lot of factors.
Love 2023 Stats
Despite struggling at some points in the 2023 season, he threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Jordan Love was ranked seventh in the NFL a season ago for passing yards and second in the NFL with passing touchdowns.
The Green Bay Packers also did not have a single 1,000-yard receiver a season ago. If one or two Packers wide receivers go over 1,000 yards receiving this season, he may easily throw for over 4,500 yards and maybe go over 5,000 yards passing.
