The Green Bay Packers youth movement is alive and well. As the offseason continues, it seems less likely that the Packers bring back veteran free agents and move forward with their young talent. However, one position that could use some veteran help is the backup quarterback position. Jordan Love has made great strides but having a veteran in the backup roles can be beneficial. One analyst suggested the Packers sign Super Bowl winning quarterback Nick Foles.

Green Bay Packers Should Sign Nick Foles
Foles was released by the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend after they took Anthony Richardson in the draft. Foles has had one of the most interesting careers of all time. After toppling Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl, he has struggled to stay on the field in Jacksonville, Chicago, and Indianapolis. At this point in his career, he is a veteran presence in the room and that is about it. He, along with Tom Clements, would be able to help guide Jordan Love’s first year as a starter.

Need A Veteran
I am all for the youth movement but I do think the Packers need some veterans on this team, especially in the backup quarterback role. Sean Clifford is an older player who has been touted as a very smart player. One of the reasons they seem to be so high on him is the role he can play on the team. However, I do think that a veteran would be better in the long run. Whether it is Foles, Wentz, or some other veteran, it would make sense for the Packers to sign someone cheaply.
Even if the Green Bay Packers do not sign Nick Foles, they should look to another veteran. They seem committed to the youth movement and maybe that works in the long run. However, Love having a successful season is imperative for all parties involved. The Packers need to make sure the infrastructure is perfect in order to evaluate what they have in Love.
