The 2025 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, and the Green Bay Packers will have the 23rd overall pick. Green Bay will have many needs in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Some of the needs are wide receiver, defensive line, and cornerback. Green Bay could either trade up in the first-round, trade back, or trade out of the first round entirely. It remains to be seen what general manager Brian Gutekunst will decide to do in the first-round. Packers fans are hoping that he will draft players who can contribute right away instead of drafting potential projects.
NFL.com Projects Green Bay Packers To Trade Up In 2025 NFL Draft

There is a chance that Green Bay will trade up in the 2025 NFL Draft. Chad Reuter of NFL.com thinks that Green Bay will trade up from 23rd overall to 19th overall with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and select wide receiver Emeka Egbuka from the Ohio State Buckeyes. Reuter said,
“PROJECTED TRADE WITH TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
We haven’t seen the Packers draft a receiver in Round 1 since 2002 — but we did see them move up in Round 2 for Christian Watson three years ago. With the top cornerbacks no longer available in this mock, Green Bay swaps a third-round pick for a fifth-rounder to nab Egbuka.”
It would not be a surprise to see Green Bay draft a wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft, but it would be a major surprise if they drafted one in the first-round, let alone trade up for one. It might be possible that Green Bay will have to make this move during the draft.
Egbuka is projected to be one of the top wide receivers drafted in the first-round. He is 6’1″ and weighs 205 lbs. Egbuka with the Buckeyes during the 2024 college football season caught 81 passes for 1,011 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns, along with averaging 12.5 yards per reception. His longest reception with Ohio State during the 2024 college football season was 68 yards.
Green Bay has been known for drafting quality wide receivers in the second round of NFL drafts in the past. Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Davante Adams, and Jayden Reed are some names that come to mind. Egbuka with quarterback Jordan Love could be a quality connection. He could become a number one wide receiver in this offense right away also.
