The NFC North will be one of the most interesting divisions to watch in the upcoming 2024 NFL season. The Green Bay Packers are looking to reclaim their supremacy in the division after the Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North title in 2022 before the Detroit Lions topped it for the first time since 1993 last season.
At the moment, the Lions are considered the favorite to win the NFC North again, while the Chicago Bears are seeing their stock rise due to the arrival of Caleb Williams to Windy City. According to Austin Mock of The Athletic, the Packers have a great chance of winning the NFC North title, especially if Detroit’s stop unit doesn’t improve.
It’s easy to get carried away in the preseason, but if Williams is as special as he looks, the Bears could have a Houston Texans/C.J. Stroud-like season this year. Still, until we see it in the regular season, the NFC North runs through Detroit.
Despite the upside of offenses in this division, the Lions defense will likely be the deciding factor. If Detroit takes a step forward on that side of the ball, they will hold off the Packers and win another division title.

The Lions leaned on their high-powered offense to win 12 games in 2023. They were fifth in the league with 27.4 points per game. However, their defense that season was nothing to write home about, ranking 25th in the league with 23.8 points allowed per contest.

As for the Packers, they are expecting Jordan Love to take a big step forward after a fantastic 2023 campaign from the young quarterback. The addition of running back Josh Jacobs also injects even more life into Green Bay’s offense which also features plenty of promising playmakers downfield.
