The Green Bay Packers go into the 2023 season with a lot of unknowns. This is the start of the Jordan Love era and his limited playing time makes it impossible to project how he will do. There are young pieces all over the roster but also some veterans who are on top of the league at their positions. There are questions all over the NFC North as many teams have a new look and new expectations. One NFL writer has the Packers being the only team in the NFC North to go over their projected win totals.
Green Bay Packers Win Totals
The projected win totals for the division are:
- Bears: 7.5 wins
- Lions: 9.5 wins
- Packers: 7.5 wins
- Vikings: 8.5 wins
The Athletic‘s Vic Tafur predicts that only the Green Bay Packers will go over the projected total. Every other team will hit the under. What it comes down to for Tafur is that the Packers went 8-9 last season with Aaron Rodgers. With an easier schedule and a similar amount of talent, there is no reason that the Packers cannot go 8-9 again and hit the over.

Disrespectful Numbers
It is downright disrespectful that the Packers have the same win total as the Bears. I will admit that the Bears are better this season and I honestly think that Justin Fields is going to make another leap. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the rest of the roster isn’t great. The Packers’ roster is clearly superior. Minnesota got extremely lucky last year and will most likely regress having to play the first-place schedule. The Lions are the favorite but many forget that they started horribly last year. Which Lions team will we see? Tafur thinks the one from the beginning of last season.
The projected win totals show how easily the Packers could win the division. 9-8 or 10-7 might be good enough to take the division crown. The 2023 season will be interesting for sure in the NFC North.
