The Green Bay Packers may make some moves at the trade deadline this season.  It has been clear through four games that the Packers may need some weapons and/or defensive help to get on the right track.  However, it is fair to say that the defensive coordinator job along with a slew of injuries have impacted the defense more than any talent that is or isn’t on the field.

The Chicago Bears appear to also be a team that could make a move at the trade deadline.  However, their move seems to be moving on from one of their own players.

Green Bay Packers NFC North Rival The Chicago Bears Place WR Chase Claypool On The Trade Block

It has been reported that the Chicago Bears are actively shopping wide receiver Chase Claypool, according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz. Sources tell him Bears’ general manager Ryan Poles has been “calling teams he believes are interested in acquiring a receiver” and asking for a “fifth or sixth-round pick.”.

The Chicago Bears traded a premium draft pick to get Claypool. Many at the time thought it was a great move. In the end, it was a high price to pay for a player who wanted a change of scenery, but now Poles is trying to convince teams that Claypool only needs a change after his disappointing experience in Chicago.

It’s been a drama-filled offseason, some wow moments during training camp, a poor performance in the Bears’ week one game, criticism about his role within the offense on Friday, and now he was a healthy scratch today vs. the Denver Broncos.

The Packers nearly traded for Claypool last off-season.  It looks like that was a good “miss” by the team.
