In recent years, there have been fewer harsher critics of the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, and anyone else associated with the team as polarizing sports analyst Skip Bayless. That being said, Bayless often makes shocking and controversial statements for the sake of increasing the popularity of his shows. His disdain for Rodgers, especially in his later years in Green Bay, was well-documented, and perhaps due to the fact that the four-time NFL MVP constantly beat Bayless’ beloved Dallas Cowboys.

On his most recent show on Fox, Bayless was asked by a fan if he owned any non-Cowboys jerseys. He went on to list several jerseys that he owns that are not Cowboys players, including a Tom Brady Buccaneers game-worn jersey. After he listed off those players, though, Bayless dropped a bombshell regarding what non-Cowboys jersey he was planning on buying this season.

In the video of Bayless’ show posted on Fox‘s website, Bayless says, “The other jersey I’m thinking about purchasing before the start of this NFL season would be a number 10. Green and Gold.”

Bayless continued, “A number 10 Green Bay Packer jersey. That’s Jordan Love’s number. There’s just something about Jordan Love that I love. I think he’s going to be the next great quarterback because he went on a roll late last season in which they went 6-2 leading into that Cowboy that they threw on us. Made me throw up.

“But over that span, Jordan Love threw 18 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Jordan Love is it!

“And this just goes to tell you how much my heart still hurts from being down 27-0 to Jordan Love’s team. I’m buying his jersey.”

As many may recall, not very many fans or analysts were very happy with the Packers when they selected Love in the 2020 NFL Draft. Furthermore, not many were happy with the team when they decided to trade Aaron Rodgers last year to make way for Love.

Last preseason, another controversial sports talk host, Colin Cowherd, went so far as to say “there’s no special there” regarding Love, and encouraged him to retire from football after a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals (in which Love was 7/10 with a touchdown pass).

Earlier this spring, Cowherd changed his tune:

“I’m a huge buyer on Green Bay. Jordan Love SHOCKED me with his improvement last year. J-Mac still wants to see him in 8-10 more games, but I was blown away by how good he is. He’s just a little wild. He’s more Favre than Aaron Rodgers, but boy, they drafted well this year like ALL their drafts. Green Bay is the best drafting team in the league, we just gotta own that.”

With all the love that Love is getting, one has to assume that he is going to have a great season in 2024.
