The Green Bay Packers can’t wait for quarterback Jordan Love to prove the doubters wrong this upcoming NFL season. The outside perception all offseason long has been watch out for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields this season and Jordan Love is going to struggle, but not so fast here.
Randy Mueller, a writer for The Athletic took six different NFL quarterbacks who he felt like they were in the same stage of their NFL careers. According to him, he would always go to the film room for answers.
The six different quarterbacks that Mueller assessed were Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears, Desmond Ritter of the Atlanta Falcons, Kenny Pickett of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers, Mac Jones of the New England Patriots, and Sam Howell of the Washington Commanders.
Some of the reasoning that Randy Mueller gave about Love in The Athletic about his game was:
“Having sat for three years, it’s clear that Love is farther ahead on the learning curve than the others on this list. You don’t need my opinion to tell you that is true. But Love’s confidence throwing into tight windows has grown in this year’s training camp, and it has shown in preseason games. The way he carried himself, the body language, the attention to detail- it’s all improved. Compare it to riding shotgun while someone else drives the truck on a delievery route every day. As a passenger, you kinda know, but you really don’t use your directional instincts the same as you would when you drive. You see things from a totally different perspective once your in the driver’s seat. Love is now the driver.”
That is some very strong insight about his game from Mueller about Love. A lot of Green Bay Packers fans hope that will translate into the regular season. This is one of the reasons why head coach Matt LaFleur wants the starting offense to get as many reps as possible throughout preseason games.

In the rankings at the end of the article, after Randy Mueller assessed his reasoning for each of the quarterbacks, he had a very interesting list. If he had to purchase a stock in order on these six guys, Kenny Pickett was ranked at the top of his list.
However, the second quarterback he had on his list was Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers and then he had Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears. That probably caught the attention of a lot of people and it should catch the attention of a lot of people. Love will be better for the Packers this season than people think he will be. A lot of that story will be told when the Packers and the Bears face off against each in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL regular season.
He had Mac Jones fourth, Sam Howell fifth, and Desmond Ridder sixth. Mueller is someone who has given credit to Jordan Love where it is due and Green Bay Packers fans hope he is right.
