The Green Bay Packers are, once again, looking for the best way to move forward after an early exit from the NFL Playoffs. Despite leading the Chicago Bears 21-6 in late in the second half of their Wild Card round matchup, Green Bay was outscored 25-6 in the fourth quarter and ended up losing the game 31-27.
Following the game, there were many fans calling on the Packers to fire head coach Matt LaFleur, who is entering the final year of his contract with the organization. However, instead of desiring to part ways with LaFleur, who has been Green Bay’s head coach for the last seven years, reports on Monday stated that the Packers are trying to work out a contract extension with him.
And while some fans are not thrilled with this development, it is noteworthy that many Packers players, including All-Pro Micah Parsons, want LaFleur back.
Green Bay Packers All-Pro Micah Parsons wants Matt LaFleur to remain as head coach

Parsons, along with multiple other Packers stars, is going to be spending the offseason rehabbing after he tore his ACL late in the season. He is optimistic that this process will not cause him to miss much, if any, games early in 2026, but certainly wants LaFleur on the sidelines when he does return.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Parsons said of his head coach:
“I reached out to him when I started seeing [fans calling for him to fired] and I said, ‘When I agreed to come here, you were part of the reason why I came here. I want you a part of this, I love you and I think you are a great coach.’”
In his first season with Green Bay, Parsons had a team-leading 12.5 sacks despite missing Green Bay’s final three games with his torn ACL. He was named to the Pro Bowl and was voted a First Team All-Pro.
And if he has it his way, he will be even better in 2026 with LaFleur at the helm.
