The Green Bay Packers will have a brand new offense in 2023. After their blockbuster trade that sent Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, coupled with numerous veterans signing elsewhere, there is a new era in Green Bay. The Packers’ passing game will be led by Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Aaron Jones out of the backfield. However, there is an inexpensive wide receiver who reportedly just hit the trade block that could provide some veteran experience to the group.
Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Cedrick Wilson Is On Trade Block
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are not opposed to the idea of keeping Wilson on the team, but they are willing to listen to trade options should they come up.
Wilson’s salary and the depth of receivers on the team has Miami considering moving on from Wilson after one season with the Dolphins.
Wilson signed a three-year, $22 million deal with the Dolphins last season, but quickly found himself as the third option for Tua Tagovailoa.
Wilson says he wants to remain in Miami. “I work out every offseason to perform when the games come,” he said. “I want to be here. I’m here right now. That’s what it’s granted to be, so I’m going to give it my best.”
The former sixth-round draft pick is says the situation is ultimately out of his control – and up to the front office.
“I’m not sure what they talk about, the agent and the [front office],” he said.
Wilson broke onto the scene in 2021 with the Dallas Cowboys. That year he ended with 45 receptions, 602 yards, and six touchdowns. That season earned him the three-year contract with the Dolphins. However, 2022 was a very down year for the wide receiver after being buried on the depth chart. The Green Bay Packers could offer a mid to late round draft pick for the wide receiver and the Dolphins may seriously consider it.
