The Green Bay Packers are still awaiting Aaron Rodgers’ decision, but Brian Gutekunst is in draft mode. The Packers have already met with Quinten Johnston, and are reported to be meeting with Alabama’s Jordan Battle Wednesday night.

Are the Green Bay Packers Looking to Add a Safety
The Packers did not re-sign Adrian Amos and as a result, he will be a free agent. Amos turns 30 in April and it is possible the Packers could be looking to go younger at the position. Additionally, Darnell Savage will play in 2023 under his fifth-year option. He will be a free agent in 2024. Savage had a down year in 2022 but played well to close the season. He will have to have a great year in 2023 if he wants to earn a new contract from the Green Bay Packers.
Jordan Battle is regarded as the best safety in this draft class and many experts project him to hear his name called towards the end of day 1. His teammate Brian Branch is the only safety in this class who might go ahead of him. The Packers could be in a good position to trade back, as they have in years past with Brian Gutekunst, and get Battle. They obviously could just take him at 15 as well, but Brian Gutekunst has shown that he likes to move around throughout the draft.
Jordan Battle’s College Career

Battle played four years at the University of Alabama under Nick Saban, and alongside many NFL starters. In four years Battle accumulated 252 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sack and 6 interceptions. Battle will have the chance to showcase his athleticism at the combine this week, but his natural ability is clearly visible on the tape. Branch is no stranger to playing against NFL talent after playing in the SEC for the last four years.
