The Green Bay Packers are counting on rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden to be a significant contributor to the team right away.  They took him in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, hoping that he could become a dependable downfield target for quarterback Jordan Love.

While it is too early to say just how good Golden will be in the NFL and whether he’ll deliver on the hype that comes with being the first wide receiver Green Bay has selected in the first round of a a draft in over two decades, the former Texas Longhorns star wide receiver is already turning heads with his work ethic in the offseason.

In recent videos shared by Golden via his Instagram account, the young WR can be seen working out on the field with a helmet on.

Fans react to Green Bay Packers rookie going off in training videos

Seeing Golden work hard in the offseason and even before the start of the training camp is inspiring and shows how seriously he is taking his approach in his first year in the pros.

Fans have taken notice of his videos as well.

“I am a big fan of the practicing with the helmet on — him and Jayden Reed have been doing this,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “Are the Packers finally going to have a WR with both quicks and deep speed? Cannot remember the last one to have both.”

From a commenter: “So excited to see him work this season 🧀🧀🧀”

“I hope he becomes the next AB .. without the craziness,” a social media user posted.

Via a different commenter: “LETS GO BABY!!! Rookie of the year loading… 🧀”

Said another: “He’s gonna burn so many mfs can’t wait”

Golden can continue impressing the Packers and their fans in the training camp, which is scheduled to start on July 23.
