School life is over for Matthew Golden of the Green Bay Packers, as he is now a pro in the NFL. He was selected 23rd overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, and the Packers are hoping that they made the right decision in getting the former Texas Longhorns star wideout. But just because he’s no longer in college, it doesn’t mean that the learning also stops.

One can say that it’s just beginning for Golden, who will have to be a sponge and absorb as much information and details as he can, as he looks to grow in the sport of football.

He may also have to pick up some geography lessons after being unable to point out on the map where the team that drafted him is.

In a video that has picked up attention on social media, Golden is shown mistaking Columbus, Ohio, for Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Well, everyone makes mistakes, and there’s no reason for anyone to make a full judgment of Golden over that particular error.

What’s more important for the Packers is that he appears to be a great guy and that he’ll do his job admirably on the field.

Coming off a solid season with the Longhorns in 2024, in which he mustered a total of 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 58 receptions, Golden will look to build on that campaign and be a major player downfield for Green Bay’s passing attack alongside the likes of fellow wide receivers Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.
