Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur loved what he saw out of his team on Thanksgiving. It was a complete team effort to defeat their division rival the Detroit Lions. LaFleur credited one unit specifically in his postgame speech.

Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur Praises Offensive Line
“I think the story was the offensive line,” LaFleur said after the game. Going into the season, this unit was set to be one of the best in the league. However, injuries and poor play have caused this group to give up a lot of sacks and force bad throws. In this game, they looked great. Jordan Love wasn’t sacked and the clean pocket led to no turnovers. They even blocked well enough for the team to have 109 rushing yards on the day and this was without Aaron Jones. If the offensive line can continue to play like this, more big offensive performances are in the future for this team.

Settling In
In the early part of the year, this team looked like they were trying to figure out themselves. A performance like this makes it look like they are beginning to settle in. While there is still a lot to figure out, this group was able to keep the likes of Aidan Hutchinson in check. There are plenty of winnable games on the schedule. If the Packers can go on a run, they might be able to sneak into the playoff picture especially if teams like the Seahawks and Vikings start to fade.

It was a great win on Thanksgiving for the Packers. They now get a long week to prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town.
