The Green Bay Packers have a worrying injury list ahead of their NFC North clash against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon. One of them is rookie safety Evan Williams, who is dealing with a quadriceps injury.

The 23-year-old missed Week 9 against the Detroit Lions due to a hamstring injury. Evan Williams last played against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. However, he was sidelined against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16 after hurting his leg, most likely in practice.

During a recent presser, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said he is not expecting Williams to suit up again for the rest of the regular season, as he hopes to see him back healthy in the playoffs.

“There’s concern. I would think he’s going to be out for a period of time. Nothing long-term, just one of those deals. It’s unfortunate,” LaFleur said about Williams. “I think it happened on the first play of practice (on Saturday). I know he’s bummed because it’s the second time it’s happened to him. Hopefully, we’ll get him back in time for the playoffs,” he added.

The Oregon product was the highest-graded rookie in the league through the first six weeks of the 2024 campaign, as he was given a cumulative grade of 91.4 by the PFF, highlighting his immense potential.
