The Green Bay Packers were humbled in their Week Four loss to the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. The game saw the Packers down 27-3 at half. It was the return of Aaron Jones and season debut of Christian Watson that had fans excited about what the offense would look like.
It didn’t get off to a great start. Twenty-one yards on 22 offensive plays. Those were the stats on the Green Bay Packers’ halftime sheet against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. Aaron Jones was used sparingly in the game as he finished with only five rushing attempts. Following the game LaFleur released a statement regarding Jones moving forward.

According to CBS’ Zach Jacobson:
Matt LaFleur said he’s hopeful that Aaron Jones and Christian will be able to play at a full workload in next Monday’s game against the Raiders, but they were indeed on a pitch count last night. “We wanted to be careful with them,” he said.
Jones had missed the Packers’ last two games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints with a hamstring injury. It was clear that Aaron Jones was on a pitch count on Thursday Night. The Packers have a long history of easing players back from injury.
The Packers will now have a semi bye week as they get ready to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on October 9th. If the Packers want to start moving in the right direction, they’re going to have to utilize Jones and Christian Watson much more in the offense.
