From the AFC South to the NFC North. That’s been the journey of late for Malik Willis, who was traded by the Tennessee Titans to the Green Bay Packers on Monday. Before the trade, Willis posted a three-word message on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“Glory to God 🙏🏾💯,” Willis shared last Sunday evening.

Malik Willis in better place with the Green Bay Packers
Did Willis have an idea that he was about to get traded when he wrote and uploaded that post? That’s hard to know without the quarterback saying anything about it, but he presumably is in a better position with the Packers than with the Titans.
Willis apparently lost the backup role behind Will Levis to veteran Mason Rudolph, but he might now be the favorite to become QB2 for the Packers, who also have Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt on the depth chart. It is possible that the move to acquire Willis was a sign that at least one of Clifford and Pratt will be let go by the Packers, who were never been blown away by either quarterback in training camp and in the preseason.
During the 2024 NFL preseason, Willis passed for 205 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 20-for-27 completions — or 74.1 percent completion rate.
A dual-threat quarterback, Willis provides an intriguing change-of-pace quarterback option for the Packers, who finished eighth in the NFL in the 2023 campaign with 23.8 points per game and 10th with 348.3 total yards per contest.
Selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Titans, Williuas has appeared in 11 games so far in his pro career, with 350 passing yards, zero passing touchdowns, and three interceptions to go with 144 rushing yards and a touchdown and nine first downs on 32 attempts.
