While many thought the Green Bay Packers offense would struggle at times in 2023, their lack of consistency has disappointed just about every fan they have. The Packers were one fourth-quarter collapse away from starting the season 3-0 (thanks to the Atlanta Falcons). At the time coaches and fans were extremely optimistic about Jordan Love and the potential of this offense.
However, the Packers have since lost four straight games resulting in a 2-5 record and the offense has had enough three-and-outs to last an entire season. The offense’s inability to stay on the field and put up first-half points has come back to bite them in every single loss they’ve suffered. One analyst thinks the Packers could be adding a young superstar that could help with that.
The Green Bay Packers Are Predicted To Add LSU Star Wide Receiver Malik Nabers

Freddie Boston of Fansided elaborated on what the addition of Nabers would do to this offense:
The Packers desperately need a WR1. Christian Watson may become that player, but he hasn’t shown enough evidence of that this season.
Finding Jordan Love an elite pass-catcher could fix so many issues on offense. Love would have a trusted target who regularly gets open and makes positive plays. That would take pressure off Watson to be a game-changing, big-play threat.
Doubs would take on the James Jones role as a reliable, complementary option on the outside, with Jayden Reed making plays in the slot.
LSU has a phenomenal track record of developing wide receivers. Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, and Odell Beckham Jr. are among the recent superstar receivers who played at LSU. Malik Nabers can become the next player to join that list.
Nabers is having a dominant season, catching 56 passes for 981 yards and nine touchdowns in only eight games.
“His body control and route-running potential are already good enough to stand out in the pros. He’s a future focal point of an NFL passing attack,” writes Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus.
Nabers is electric with the ball in his hands. He has the speed to fly past defenders and the vision and yards-after-catch ability to turn a short pass into a huge play. Nabers could be the WR1 the Packers are searching for.
Would The Packers Take A Wide Receiver In The First Round Of The NFL Draft?

The Packers have not selected a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL draft since 2002. That year they took Javon Walker with the 20th overall pick. If the Packers have a top five draft pick in 2024 and an elite wide receiver is on the board, they would likely consider it.
However, the Packers have shown they love to spend elite draft capital along the offensive and defensive line. Currently, the Packers left tackle position is in shambles. David Bakhtiari may never play another snap for the Packers. Rasheed Walker has not produced as the team would hope. Yosh Nijman, at one point, seemed like the long-term answer after Bakhtiari, but those talks have cooled off.
There are a few elite offensive line prospects in next year’s draft, if one is available for Green Bay I wouldn’t put it past them to snag one.
