The Green Bay Packers are going to have more than a few new faces on their coaching staff in 2026. After Jeff Hafley departed to become the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins, he took several Packers coaches with him. Among these were secondary coach Ryan Downard and linebackers coach Sean Duggan. Additionally, Green Bay saw their quarterbacks coach, Sean Mannion, hired as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. He, too, took several Packers coaches with him.

New defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon has slowly but surely been filling out his staff to replace the ones Hafley took with him. Similarly, head coach Matt LaFleur has been diligently searching for a new quarterbacks coach to replace Mannion.

And after a lengthy process, he settled on a name familiar to both Jordan Love and Green Bay’s fans: Luke Getsy.

According to NFL insider Tom Peliserro, LaFleur and the Packers have decided to bring back Getsy as their quarterbacks coach for the 2026 NFL season:

Getsy previously was Green Bay’s quarterbacks coach from 2019-2021. During that time, from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won two NFL MVP Awards.

Following the 2021 season, Getsy was hired as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears. After a tough two seasons there, he was hired to the same position by the Las Vegas Raiders. His tenure there, though, lasted less than one season.

After being fired by the Raiders, Getsy was brought back to Green Bay as a defensive analyst. Last season, he served on LaFleur’s staff as a senior offensive analyst.
