Malik Willis is now with the Green Bay Packers after the NFC North division franchise acquired the dual-threat signal-caller via a trade with the Tennessee Titans. In return, the Titans got a seven-round pick from the Packers. T
Malik Willis’ trade to Green Bay Packers generates online buzz
The Packers’ trade for Willis caught a lot of people by surprise. That being said, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur did say over the weekend that Green Bay was open to looking for a QB2 option outside the team. The Packers still have Sean Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt on the team at the time of this writing, but Willis could end up being announced officially as the chief backup behind Jordan Love.
“Interesting move! Malik Willis heading to the Packers could be a great opportunity for him to learn and develop behind Jordan Love. Excited to see how this plays out! 🏈🔄”

“In this league, having a quality back up for a game or two could mean the difference in pursuit of the SuperBowl. Green Bay was close last year with Jordan Love.”

“The #Titans trading Malik Willis to the #Packers for a 2025 seventh-round pick? Titans win this one. They clear cap space and get a pick for a QB who was likely to be cut. Packers get a project, but at what cost?”

“Willis’ processing is finally starting to improve. Takes time, takes reps. Doesn’t seem like Clifford has impressed the Packers. Move for Willis is savvy.”

Malik Willis will start a new chapter in the NFL with the Packers
Willis was in contention for the QB2 role in Tennessee but he apparently lost the competition for that spot to Mason Rudolph. However, his trade to Green Bay could be the break he needs to turn his career around. Sure, he’s going to be playing behind Love and he might not even see the field a lot, but a new football environment could just be the restart he needs.
