The Green Bay Packers may be busy trying to prepare for a run at the Super Bowl this season, but it is never too early to be talking about the 2025 NFL Draft. Green Bay will be hosting the 2025 NFL Draft this year.
They are going to hope they will keep their first-round draft pick this year. One of the potential prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft who could be available near the end of the first round is Ohio State Buckeyes defensive lineman Tyleik Williams.
Pro Football Focus Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Tyleik Williams #28 Overall In the 2025 NFL Draft
Pro Football Focus writer Trevor Sikkema created a mock draft on Monday for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. He has the Green Bay Packers selecting 28th overall in the draft. With the selection, Sikkema has the Packers selecting defensive tackle Tyleik Williams from Ohio State.
He thinks the biggest needs for Green Bay this upcoming NFL draft will be defensive line, cornerback, and offensive tackle. Trevor Sikkema said about this selection:
“Tyleik Williams has been a flashy player for the past two seasons and seems to be more consistent in 2024. Though he has missed some games this year, his 88.8 PFF run-defense grade is emblematic of good early-down play from his 3-technique position.”
This season with the Ohio State Buckeyes, he has recorded 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Williams is 6’3″ and weighs 327 lbs.
Cornerback Might Be #1 Need
The biggest need for the Green Bay Packers this offseason could very well be cornerback. It would be nice to add Tyleik Williams on the defensive line to go alongside Kenny Clark, but they will need more help on the backend.
They are most likely not going to re-sign Eric Stokes this offseason. Jaire Alexander is getting older and even though he has been healthy this season, his health may not be able to be trusted moving forward. Drafting a cornerback might be the go-to move for them here over a defensive tackle.
