The Green Bay Packers have not started a season with a 0-2 record since 2006. That streak is in danger of falling this coming Sunday, as the Packers are likely to play without star quarterback Jordan Love. Apart from their QB problem, the Packers will also be dealing with a dangerous Indianapolis Colts offensive weapon in the form of running back Jonathan Taylor.
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur wary of Jonathan Taylor
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is wary of Taylor. Green Bay likely has talked about Taylor and what the team could do to slow down the Colts tailback, who also got an honest take from LaFleur ahead of the game.
“He’s pretty dynamic,” LaFleur said of Taylor, per Ryan Wood Green Bay Press-Gazette.
“He’s got elite speed. He can make you miss. He’s a big guy. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. So I think he’s the total package,” LaFleur added.
The Packers surely do not want another running back torching them for a big game for the second week in a row. Back in the Packers’ Week 1’s 34-29 loss in Brazil to the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley went off for 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. Barkley also scored a touchdown reception.
Taylor was not as prolific in Week 1 as Barkley, as he rushed 16 times for 48 yards and a touchdown in a 29-27 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans, but he is certainly capable of coming up with a massive performance.
The former Wisconsin Badgers star running back have 4,630 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns on 941 carries in his career so far in the NFL.
