The Green Bay Packers may have multiple rivals on the gridiron, but there are certainly things much bigger than sports.
It is being reported that the Minnesota Vikings have lost one of their 2024 draft picks in a tragic car accident.
Green Bay Packers Rival Minnesota Vikings Tragically Lose Rookie To Car Accident
According to Adam Uren of Inside The Vikings:
It’s being reported that Minnesota Vikings’ rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson, 24, has been tragically killed in a crash in Maryland.
Details are limited at this time, but a tribute has been paid by his former high school, the Dr. Henry A. Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where he grew up.
His mother has also confirmed his death to TMZ, while Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning tweeted: “RIP Khyree… Love you at a loss for words. I will miss your smile. Great player better person.”
Oregon Ducks reporters Scott Reed and James Crepea are also reporting Jackson’s death.
The Vikings selected Jackson from Oregon with the No. 108 pick in the fourth round of this year’s NFL Draft, and he was earning rave reviews based on his early performances in training camp.
He was one of the best stories of the 2024 NFL Draft, having given up football in 2017 and taking a job at a local grocery store before giving the sport another shot in 2019.
Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jonathan Greenard tweeted the following Saturday morning.
Khyree Jackson had potential for one of the best comeback stories in sports after he worked his way back to football from a grocery store deli. I’m beyond heartbroken for him, his family, and teammates. Be safe and love on your people. pic.twitter.com/rCfej6DKZV
