The Green Bay Packers need a safety on either the free agent market or the NFL Draft and Justin Simmons is one of the top safeties on the market heading into NFL free agency next week. Simmons is one of the top names on the market along with Xavier McKinney.
Justin Simmons was released earlier this week and a lot of Denver Broncos players were not happy that they released him. They thought very highly of him and thought he was an excellent teammate and locker-room player.
This is the kind of player that the Packers need inside their locker room on the defensive side of the ball for next season. He has been a pro bowler in the past with Denver and he is also 30 years old. Simmons last season with the Denver Broncos recorded 70 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three interceptions, and eight pass deflections.
Justin Simmons Wrote a Heartfelt Message to the Denver Broncos Fanbase and the Green Bay Packers Would Be a Great Next Stop For Him
On Thursday, Simmons wrote a heartfelt message to the Broncos. Some of that message said:
“God is good. There is so much to say and so much to be thankful for but it’s hard to put 8 years of gratitude into words…First and foremost, THANK YOU to John Elway, Joe Ellis, and Mr. Pat Bowlen and the Bowlen family. From the bottom of my heart, you gave a kid out of BC and Stuart, FL a chance to start the journey of a lifetime with the prestigious Broncos organization. You gave me the foundation to become a better player, better man, and eventually a better captain. I hope my game and character represented everything it meant to be a Bronco.”
There will be many suitors on the market next week for Simmons. The Packers need to do everything to sign Justin Simmons if they can’t sign Xavier McKinney on the free agent market or anyone else. Green Bay needs a veteran on this defense.
Simmons would probably be one of the defensive captains of the Green Bay Packers right away. He can also make game-changing plays for this defense that needs it badly.
