The Green Bay Packers, at 9-3-1, are looking to maintain their lead in the NFC North (and second seed in the NFC as a whole) when they take on the Denver Broncos today. It will not be an easy tasks, though, as Denver is currently 11-2, on a 10-game winning streak, and the top seed in the AFC. Additionally, the Broncos are 6-0 so far at home this season and Green Bay has not won there since 2007.
Unfortunately for the Packers, they have not been able to practice with their full running back room this week. Marshawn Lloyd has a new hamstring injury, meaning that his long-awaited season debut will have to wait. Additionally, three-time Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs did not practice until Friday, and even then he did so in a limited fashion.
On Saturday night, Emanuel Wilson was added to the injury report with an illness, leading Green Bay to elevate Pierre Strong from the practice squad, just in case.
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs will play against the Denver Broncos

Jacobs, as fans are well-aware, has been dealing with a knee injury that he suffered against the New York Giants in Week 13. The injury forced him to leave the game early, but an MRI revealed no structural damage. There was, however, a great deal of swelling.
Regardless, Jacobs was able to play last week against the Chicago Bears. He had 20 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown in the 28-21 win.
However, the knee still bothered him and he had another MRI this week just to make sure he did not damage it further. Fortunately, it came back clean, but he was not able to practice.
Last night, though, NFL insiders reported that Jacobs will, indeed, play on Sunday:
Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee) is expected to play Sunday vs. the Broncos, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
RB Emanuel Wilson, who is questionable with an illness, plans to play but it’ll depend on how he feels in the morning.

As one can see from the post above, while Jacobs is able to play, the Packers are waiting to see how Wilson feels ahead of the game to determine whether or not he will suit up too.
Having Jacobs for the game, though, is a real boost for the offense. The former Las Vegas Raiders running back averaged over 90 rushing yards a game and has nine touchdowns in eight games against the Broncos in his career (the two teams are in the same division).
