The NFL is a young man’s league. And many of those who are 25 years old or younger have already captured fans’ attention, including, of course, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who will be turning 26 this coming November. Love is also one of the many 25 or younger players who made The Athletic’s top players from that age group.
Love got ranked No. 11 on the list, with only Houston Texans star CJ Stroud as the other quarterback placed higher than the Packers signal-caller. He is also the only Packers player on the lost.
11. Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers. Age: 25 (11/2/98)
Love went on a tear to close out his first season as a starter and propelled the Packers into the playoffs, where they upset the Cowboys in the wild-card round, then suffered a narrow 24-21 loss to the 49ers in the divisional round. Love (4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions) appears poised to take another massive leap forward in 2024.
Although Love has been in the league since 2021 when the Packers took him in the first round (26th overall) of that year’s NFL draft, it was only in 2023 when he became a full-time starter, made possible by the departure of Aaron Rodgers. In his first year as a regular starter for the Packers, he passed for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions on a 64.2 percent completion rate. He also led Green Bay to a playoff appearance not many saw coming.
Having gained full-season starting experience and seemingly more confident, Love is expected to come up with a stronger season in 2024.
