While many Green Bay Packers fans welcomed Jordan Love’s return under center during the team’s Week 4 loss against the Minnesota Vikings, many got frustrated with how he played.
It’s not like they can blame the young gunslinger for wanting to return as quickly as he could despite not playing at full strength. The Vikings are one of the toughest defenses in the NFL; while Malik Willis has been a pleasant surprise this season, he’s not the type of QB Matt LaFleur would want to have under center.
You could also see with his post-game stat line how badly he wanted to play well in front of the Lambeau Field faithful. Some could argue that the picks he threw in the game were made in a calculated gamble to push the Packers against one of the tougher defenses in the NFL.
While some may feel that his errors were costly, one analyst points out that their QB1 is still one of the better ones in the league.
Analyst says Jordan Love’s 2024 performances for the Green Bay Packers places him among NFL’s best
247Sports’ Jacob Morley posted an intriguing statistic that should show Love’s biggest critics on how important he is to the Green Bay Packers’ on-field success:
Jordan Love has only played two games.
Yet he is only 1 of 9 QBs in the NFL to have 15 or more passes of 20+ yards.
He is slinging it.

If you put the picks he threw against Minnesota out of the equation, Love is having an elite start to his 2024 campaign. He’s thrown for 649 yards and six touchdowns through two games. While Love’s 55.7% completion rate is subpar, you can expect the percentage to rise if he plays the rest of the season.
The young QB is also aware of his shortcomings and is focused on recovering well so his knee doesn’t affect his play against the Rams, as reported by Heavy’s Beth Mishler-Elmore:
“I hope not. I hope it’ll continue to heal and get better, but at this moment, yeah there’s definitely something that’s there and it’s one of those things,” Love admitted. “It’s football. We play a physical sport and there’s injuries and you’ve got to fight through some stuff.”
Packers fans also hope that their star field general will be fully recovered by the time the Packers rush onto SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
