Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur Fires Strong Jordan Love Opinion After Thanksgiving Success

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke highly of quarterback Jordan Love after they garnered a convincing 30-17 win at home on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

The 26-year-old Love was a steady presence for Green Bay in the Dolphins game, with Love leading the team’s attack with 274 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 21-of-28 completions.

LaFleur did not forget to give Green Bay’s offense line its flowers but also said that Love got the job done even when the protection unit wasn’t up to snuff.

“He’s done it in practice. He’s been very conscious of doing that. I think Tom does a great job with our quarterbacks, and just making sure that giving them the coaching points that they need. But it’s ultimately up to the player to take it. And I think he’s taken it to heart, and he works extremely hard. And I think he’s playing his best ball right now,” LaFleur told reporters in the postgame press conference following the successful takedown of the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field.

“I really do. I think he’s done a great job of taking what’s there, taking the check downs when they’re there, or taking the shots when they’re there. And he’s moving around the pocket, I think, really well. I think our O -line’s doing a pretty good job. But when it’s not perfect up front, he’s able to buy time or get out of harm’s way and get rid of the football. And that’s critical for us.”

Love has been especially fantastic over the last two Green Bay games. Back in Week 12’s 38-10 win against the San Francisco 49ers at home, he had 163 passing yards and two touchdowns with no picks thrown on 13-of-23 completions.

The hope for Green Bay is that Love will sustain his form — if not be better in Week 14 when they have a big test in a rematch against the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions on the road in Week 14.

On the season, Love has 2,518 passing yards and 20 touchdowns against 11 interceptions on a 63.0 percent completion rate.
