Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had his ups and downs on Monday night against the New York Giants. Love was anything but perfect in the game, but he completed 25-of-39 passes for 218 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
With the Packers trailing 21-16 in the fourth quarter and when Green Bay needed a potential game-winning touchdown drive, Love delivered for them. With 1:33 remaining in regulation, Love threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Malik Heath. Heath is the fifth wide receiver on Green Bay’s depth chart and this is a good sign for his growth.
Christian Watson was out due to a hamstring injury and Dontayvion Wicks left the game with an ankle injury. Malik Heath finished the game as the team’s third wide receiver behind Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs. Love continues to show signs of being the next franchise quarterback.
It was not his fault that the Packers lost to the Giants on Monday night football 24-22. The defense was not very good and didn’t help the cause. New York’s defense was ranked one of the worst in the NFL heading into this game, but they are a football team that loves to blitz.
Jordan Love at times looked uncomfortable, but he was poised when the game was on the line. That is why Packers fans are happy with his progress week in and week out.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Speaks to the Media After the Game
Just like any good leader would do, Love spoke to the media after a tough loss on the road against the New York Giants. He told Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated after the game by saying:
“Not good enough. Obviously, not good enough to get the job done there at the end. Obviously, two costly turnovers hurt us a lot. Just not good enough.”
Love also lost a fumble to go along with his one interception in the game against the Giants. This was the first time in a few weeks that he turned the football over. Love has bounced back before and he will look to be better in the next game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7).
