Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love did not play in a 16-10 win against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. Malik Willis got the start for Green Bay and it will be interesting to see if he will get the start this week against the Tennessee Titans. Love suffered an MCL sprain in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
Sean Clifford was the backup quarterback for the Packers against the Indianapolis Colts. Last week, head coach Matt LaFleur mentioned to the media how there was a chance that Love was going to play against the Colts, but a lot of people thought it was gamesmanship.
Green Bay Packers Insider Reports That Jordan Love Almost Playing In Week 2 Wasn’t a Joke
Rob Demovsky of ESPN appeared on ESPN Milwaukee on Monday. He said:
“From what I was told, Jordan Love was very close to playing” and says that LaFleur’s injury update was “not a charade.”
This is interesting. Does this mean that the former Utah State Aggies quarterback will play in Week 3? He did not practice at all in Week 2 and we will see if he can get back on the practice field on Wednesday. The Packers will not practice on Tuesday.
Malik Willis Will Start Against Former Team If Love Can’t Go
If Willis does get the start for the second straight week for the Green Bay Packers, it will be the first time facing his former team. Malik Willis was traded from the Tennessee Titans right before the start of the 2024 season. He was third on the Titans quarterback depth chart before being traded. Will Levis and Mason Rudolph were ahead of him.
The Titans are 0-2 and fans already want Will Levis benched for Mason Rudolph. If Malik Willis leads the Green Bay Packers to a victory, everything will start to boil in Nashville, Tennessee. However, the other story here is we will see if Jordan Love can suit up this week or not also.
