The Green Bay Packers are 9-3 entering Thursday night’s matchup on the road against the 11-1 Detroit Lions. Detroit and Green Bay both won on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions also defeated the Packers earlier in the season.
When they last met, Jordan Love did not play well. He hopes to play better when they face each other on Thursday night in Detroit, Michigan.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Makes Statement Ahead Of Detroit Lions Matchup
On Sunday, the Packers were back at practice ahead of the Lions matchup on Thursday. Jordan Love spoke to the media after practice and had some interesting words for Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Love said:
“We’re ready to go get a win on Thursday.”
This is good confidence from the star quarterback. Detroit has not lost since the second week of the NFL season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If the Green Bay Packers lose on Thursday night, the Lions will sweep the season series with the Packers and inch one step closer to a division title for the second straight season.
Wild Card Team
Even if Green Bay loses to Detroit this weekend, they would still be in a good spot in regards to making the playoffs as a wild-card team. It would help the Packers if they somehow won the NFC North this season, but it would not be the end of the world if they didn’t win the division.
A season ago, the Green Bay Packers had to win games to stay alive in the playoff race. This season, they are trying to win games to stay alive in the divisional race even though they should be in the playoffs this season. The Green Bay Packers will be one step closer to making the playoffs with a win on Thursday night against the Detroit Lions.
