The Green Bay Packers expected to lose defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and multiple defensive coaches this off-season. Even before Hafley was named head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Matt LaFleur expressed confidence that his defensive coordinator would get one of the vacant jobs. As such, it stands to reason that Green Bay also expected multiple Packers coaches would follow him.
But was, perhaps, a bit of a surprise was the departure of Sean Mannion, who became the next offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. Mannion had been with the Packers for two years and served as their quarterbacks coach last year following the retirement of Tom Clements.
Green Bay Packers star Jordan Love would like input on who the next quarterbacks coach is

With Mannion now the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia, the Packers suddenly find themselves in need of a new quarterbacks coach. Whoever is hired by Green Bay will, of course, work with starter Jordan Love and whatever other backup/practice squad guys the Packers bring in.
And Love, understandably, would like to have some input in whom that new coach will be:

“We’ve had some discussions,” Love said when asked if he talked to LaFleur about having a say in who the next quarterbacks coach would be. “I’d love to have input on who got coming into the quarterback room. I know we’ll do a great job of bringing in somebody who will do a great job coaching us.
“But it’s one of those things like, we’ll see how this offense progresses, who is going to be in there. But we got a great group of guys, a great group of coaches.”
As one can see, Love is not desiring to have full control over who is hired as the next quarterbacks coach. Instead, he simply wants to have a say in who that person might be.
And this is understandable. It is important for players to work well with their coaches, so it would be wise of LaFleur and the Packers to bring in someone with whom Love feels comfortable.
