Green Bay Packers: NFL Analyst Adds 1 Bold Adjective When Describing Jordan Love and Day 2 Weapons

The Green Bay Packers were certainly busy on Day Two of the 2023 NFL Draft. General manager Brian Gutekunst selected tight end Luke Musgrave with the 42nd overall pick and then traded down to pick 50 before drafting wide receiver Jayden Reed. Then in the third round, he drafted yet another tight end, Tucker Kraft. The purpose of Day Two was clear: get weapons for Jordan Love. Many fans and analysts were impressed with Green Bay’s haul, and one went so far as to imply some great things for the new starting quarterback.

The Green Bay Packers Have a “Star” Quarterback

While many fans are excited about the young quarterback, others are still skeptical due to his lack of experience. There is also the fact that he has just as many interceptions as a NFL quarterback as he does touchdown passes (three). Still, it is difficult for some to ignore the potential and growth that Love has displayed in the last two years. NFL Network‘s Marc Ross went so far as to say that Love is going to be a star thanks in part to Green Bay’s Day Two draft picks:

“[The Green Bay Packers] helped Jordan Love big time [on Day Two]. First, they drafted Luke Musgrave, super athletic tight end from Oregon State. Only played two games this year, but when he played, he played like a Mike Gesicki, a better more athletic Mike Gisecki.

“And then they weren’t done. They said, ‘Let’s go get Jayden Reed to work the slot.’ Big time playmaker from Michigan State to complement Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. Speed guy, and I mean just a football player. This guy is going to get wide open and make big time plays.

“Oh, and then they’re not done. They got get another tight end, Tucker Kraft, from South Dakota State. So, it was all about helping Jordan Love. The Packers had to help their young, upcoming, STAR quarterback.”

In addition to these Day Two players, the Packers drafted two more wide receivers on Day Three. They took Dontayvion Wicks in the fifth round and Grant DuBose in the seventh.

There will be plenty of learning moments with such a young offense, but the potential is extremely exciting!
