Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Reveals the 1 Thing “I Didn’t Do as Well” in 2024

Despite what many fans may claim, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love did not have a sharp decline in production during the 2024 NFL season. In 2023, his first year as Green Bay’s starting quarterback, he completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 96.1 passer rating. Last season, he completed 63.1% of his passes for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 96.7 passer rating.

While, on the surface, his numbers were down in 2024 compared to 2023, it is important to note that he missed two full games due to injury, and was taken out early in two others.

That being said, Love did not play as well as he should have. At the same time, it is important to note that, when he was playing, he was not healthy.

As fans recall all to well, Love injured his knee on the second-to-last play of Green Bay’s Week One loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil last season. He missed the following two games with an MCL sprain, but was not 100% healthy when he returned in Week Four.

A few weeks later, Love injured his groin. While he did not miss any more games because of injury, it was clear that he was playing hurt for the remainder of the season.

During a recent interview with Rich Eisen, Love revealed the one part of his game that he wants to improve upon, and that was limited by his injuries last season.

“I was dealing with an injury last year,” Love said, “but I think a big part of my game that I was missing was being able to get on the move, scramble a little bit more, take off and run and sometimes just extend plays… create some more off-schedule plays, I think, is a big part of the offense that we were missing that I didn’t do as well of a job on. So, that’s definitely something I’m trying to focus on going into this year.”

Indeed, moving out of the pocket and scrambling to extend plays is a vital skill for any NFL quarterback. However, due to his knee and groin injuries, that was not something Love was able to do consistently or effectively in 2024.

Hopefully he is able to stay healthy enough in 2025 so that Green Bay’s offense can look like a more full version of itself, which may result in more wins.
