The Green Bay Packers will begin their NFL season on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. There is a lot of hype surrounding quarterback Jordan Love entering this season for the Packers.
A lot of fans are hoping he leads them to big things this season. Love could be a potential dark horse candidate this season to win the MVP Award.
Pro Football Focus’s John Kosko Questions Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Entering the 2024 Season
Pro Football Focus writer John Kosko has one burning question for each NFL team entering the 2024 season. For the Green Bay Packers, the question he asked is:
“Is Jordan Love The Real Deal Or A Half-Season Fluke?”
Kosko also responded to the question by saying:
“We have one season of film to judge Jordan Love. In the first half of the season (Weeks 1-8), he struggled with mechanics, decision-making and accuracy, earning a 62.8 PFF passing grade.
Then a switch flipped, and Love started going through his progressions, finding the open receiver and delivering strikes to earn a 90.7 grade, the best in the NFL during that time frame.
His accuracy was still inconsistent, but he was clearly much more comfortable as a passer. The problem is that it’s just a 12-game sample size. Is Love the second-half-of-the-season guy we saw, or was he just on a heater, like we’ve seen from many quarterbacks before him?”
Yes, there will still be people who are still questioning him entering the 2024 NFL season. There is a reason why Green Bay gave him a contract extension.
Love Showed Signs Of Eliteness Last Season
We will see what Love can do against a defense on Friday night that spiraled toward the end of last season. There were signs of Love being an elite quarterback during the 2023 season. Love completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
He was seventh in the NFL last season in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns. The former Utah State Aggies quarterback only trailed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott with 36 passing touchdowns a season ago. Love has a great chance to silence his doubters starting on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
