The Green Bay Packers have a number of decisions to make this off-season. The pending Aaron Rodgers trade has been the biggest story coming out of Green Bay over the last month or so. However, there are multiple other moves that need to be made this off-season that will shape the future of the organization. According to multiple reports, the Green Bay Packers are expected to commit to one massive extension very soon.
Green Bay Packers Expected To Exercise Jordan Love’s Fifth Year Option

According to Kristopher Knox with Bleacher Report the Packers are expected to pick up Jordan Love’s fifth-year option for 2024. Teams have until May 1 to exercise these options, with Knox expecting Love and Justin Herbert to both receive the one-year extension while Joe Burrow receives a massive deal.
“Love, meanwhile, has just one start on his resume after spending his first three seasons backing up Aaron Rodgers,” Knox said. “Green Bay needs time to evaluate Love before making a decision on his future, so the fifth-year option makes perfect sense.”
The fifth-year option would be a one-year, $20.27 million deal that’s fully guaranteed for Jordan Love. For a quarterback who has only logged one career start, that’s quite a payday for the former first-round pick. The future starter in Green Bay has certainly shown a lot of growth over the last three years. The coaching staff and front office have been adamant on their confidence in Jordan Love going forward.
Love’s week 12 performance of last season, after coming in for an injured Rodgers, really seemed to solidify the Green Bay Packers confidence. He completed 6 of 9 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter of a loss, but his decision making was eye-opening. Many have compared it to Aaron Rodgers’ break out game in 2007 vs the Dallas Cowboys. In that game Rodgers finished 18-of-26 for 201 yards and a touchdown.
