The Green Bay Packers did not address the cornerback position seriously over the last two NFL drafts when they needed to. There have been a lot of questions about the future of cornerback Jaire Alexander with the team.

They have tried to trade him or release him, but that has not occurred yet. There is a chance that Alexander will start with the team in training camp, but there is a chance that his roster spot should not be guaranteed. One undrafted free agent player who will try and make the team out of camp is cornerback Johnathan Baldwin. He played for the UNLV Rebels during the 2024 college football season.
PFF Lists Green Bay Packers Cornerback Johnathan Baldwin As One Undrafted Free Agent To Watch For During Training Camp

It is not a secret that there are questions about the Packers cornerback room once again entering the 2025 NFL season. For now, Alexander, Nate Hobbs, and Keisean Nixon for now are the three cornerbacks who will see the field for Green Bay in 2025. Carrington Valentine, Micah Robinson, and Javon Bullard will compete for two of the final three spots on the roster.
However, pro football focus writer Ben Cooper thinks that there is one undrafted free agent on the Packers who could make the roster at the cornerback position. Baldwin from UNLV could make the team out of camp for Green Bay in 2025. Cooper said,
“It’s hard to know the state of the Packers’ cornerback room without getting an official answer about Jaire Alexander’s uncertain future with the team. Either way, Green Bay didn’t draft a cornerback until the seventh round.
Although the Packers added slot cornerback Nate Hobbs in free agency, Baldwin is an intriguing UDFA signing with solid potential at the position. Among the 50 FBS cornerbacks who faced 50 or more targets in slot coverage in 2024, Baldwin ranked first in yards allowed per coverage snap (0.93). He also secured three interceptions and broke up eight passes on his way to a career-high 74.2 PFF coverage grade.”
In 14 games with UNLV during the 2024 college football season, he recorded 68 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, and 11 pass deflections. Baldwin is 6’1″ and weighs 200 lbs. This could be one of the players to watch for with the Packers during training camp. There has usually been at least one player for Green Bay that’s an undrafted free agent who makes the roster also.
