When the Green Bay Packers made the decision to trade Aaron Rodgers in favor of Jordan Love following the 2022 NFL season, it was made a great deal of mixed reactions. New York Jets fans, of course, were ecstatic that their team, after decades of being in quarterback purgatory, were getting a surefire Pro Football Hall of Famer to play the position. Many of these fans, as well as many NFL analysts, believed they were in for a Super Bowl run (or two).
Packers fans, meanwhile, were split on the decision. As was the case when Green Bay decided to move on from Brett Favre in favor of Rodgers, there was a loud portion of the fanbase that vowed never to support the new quarterback and expressed anger with the organization for pushing the four-time NFL MVP out the door.
But now, almost two years later, it looks like Jets fans may have buyers’ remorse while Packers fans are sitting pretty with Love and their 9-3 team.
New York Jets Fans Are Furious with former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers
From an outsider’s perspective, it is an interesting exercise to follow a Jets game by looking at the social media posts of their beat writers. Saying that it is a roller coaster would be an understatement.
For example, here is a post from early in the game on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. At the time, Rodgers and the Jets were playing well:
Aaron Rodgers with a nice throw to Davante Adams down the field, perfectly placed. Gained 24 yards.

As Packers fans know all too well, a little bit of hope can give way to all of a sudden having feelings of invincibility or that things have finally turned around, such as when this happened:
Wow. There’s the Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams connection in action in a way we haven’t seen in a while. Beautiful pitch and catch on a fade for the TD.
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) December 1, 2024
But then Rodgers will do something bewildering as he tries to play the hero, and things like this happen:
Omg. Leonard Williams with a 95-yard interception touchdown. What a weird ass game.
Terrible, terrible decision by Aaron Rodgers.
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) December 1, 2024
Which gets followed by things like this:
Aaron Rodgers trying to get Garrett Wilson killed?
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) December 1, 2024
And what Packers fan doesn’t remember this classic:
And an Aaron Rodgers delay of game.
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) December 1, 2024
All to end with:
The Jets will fall to 3-9. Another bad loss. What else is there to say?
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) December 1, 2024
After the game, Rodgers did take some responsibility for the loss, but also stated the wind played a factor on some of his throws.
Jets fans were not having it:
Dude played in Green Bay for 91 years. I’m not gonna accept elements as an excuse.

Aaron Rodgers negatively reacts (body language and expressions) whenever one of his teammates or coaches does something wrong. But whenever he throws the ball 10 feet away from the target, I don’t see his teammates/coaches doing the same. The guy is toxic.

Aaron Rodgers throws a pick 6 today.

Loser players and teams don’t make those plays

When a QB starts talking about the wind it’s a wrap

New York is now 3-9 and officially has clinched a losing season.
The big question now is if Rodgers will be back in 2025.
