‘Seek Upgrades This Offseason”: Green Bay Packers Find New Player Maker In Second-Round Of Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

The Green Bay Packers will need to find help for Jordan Love this offseason. The last two seasons they have not had a single 1,000-yard wide receiver and it has actually hurt them.

There is no doubt that there is some talent in the wide receiver room, but it appears as if they will be good number two’s and not number one’s. Jordan Love needs a go-two wide receiver with the game on the line. Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs are good players to have, but they need to find someone who can reach another level.

Pro Football Focus created its latest seven-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers. With the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Pro Football Focus has the Packers selecting wide receiver Jalen Royals from the Utah State Aggies. They said:

“The Green Bay wide receiver corps delivered uneven performances throughout 2024, prompting the Packers to potentially seek upgrades this offseason. Royals presents another value option for Green Bay, as a foot injury ended his 2024 season in Week 8. Known for his quickness and agility, Royals excels as a precise route-runner and an after-catch threat. Equally impressive is his ability to win contested situations, as he hauled in 26 receptions on 43 contested targets since the start of 2023.”

Royals is 6’0″ and weighs 205 lbs. Before the injury this season, he caught 55 passes for 834 yards receiving and six touchdowns, along with averaging 15.2 yards per reception. Jalen Royals also rushed for three years on one carry. Also, his last game played of the 2024 college football season was against the UNLV Rebels on October 19.

Had he been healthy for a full year, Royals would have no doubt been over 1,000 yards receiving and potentially a first-round selection. Instead, he could be a first-round talent taking in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. In the season before, Jalen Royals caught 71 passes for 1,080 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns, along with averaging 15.2 yards per catch.

There is no doubt that he could be drafted earlier in the second round in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jalen Royals as a second-round pick could be a steal for the Green Bay Packers. They are no strangers to finding top wide receiver talent in that round.

    Future At the Position

Jayden Reed feels like the only sure-fire bet to be on the Green Bay Packers roster next year. Romeo Doubs could be traded and Christian Watson could miss the entire 2025 season due to a torn ACL. It is unknown what the Green Bay Packers think of Dontayvion Wicks after he struggled in his second NFL season.

This is why Green Bay is in the market to draft a wide receiver. They will also look to trade for one or sign one. Jalen Royals could be a part of the revamped wide receiver for the Packers in 2025 if they were able to draft him.
