Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has missed several games this season and he will miss another one on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings (7-8) because of a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, according to Yahoo Sports.
One of the reasons why he was suspended was because he was not a team captain for the game against the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday and decided to go out to mid-field for the coin toss. This was an interesting move by Green Bay.
With this suspension, this will be the 10th game he has missed this season. He has not played two games in a row since 10/29 against the Minnesota Vikings and 11/5 against the Los Angeles Rams. Alexander in six games this season has a total of 26 tackles and one forced fumble. He has no interceptions, but that is probably because other teams don’t want to target him.
Alexander is 26 years old and would have a cap hit over $24 million next season, according to Spotrac. Green Bay can get out of the contract after next season and if they were not doing that, he won’t be a free agent until after the 2026 season.
Would general manager Brian Gutekunst move off of him this offseason? If the Packers decide to move off of him this offseason, who are some of the NFL teams that can make a call and acquire him?
One of the Best Fits For Green Bay Packers Cornerback Jaire Alexander Is the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles’ secondary has not been very good this season. James Bradberry and Darius Slay are older and Jaire Alexander would be an upgrade over both of them when healthy. General manager Howie Roseman loves wheeling and dealing with other NFL teams.
The Green Bay Packers would love to get some decent trade value back for him like a second or third-round pick, but they may ask for a first-rounder for him. Philadelphia is always looking to make moves.
Los Angeles Rams Would Be Interested In Alexander

The Los Angeles Rams have a very young defense and they could improve on the back end. Ahkello Witherspoon and Cobie Durant are the top two cornerbacks on the Rams roster. Los Angeles is always in a mood where they always want to trade their draft picks for valuable players.
They will make the playoffs this season and will feel like they’re in contention next season. Los Angeles traded away Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins and will look to gain a valuable player back at that position.
Houston Texans Would Love To Have Alexander

The Houston Texans are very close to being a serious AFC playoff team for years to come under head coach DeMeco Ryans. Houston has a lot of things in place for the future. The Texans will have the Cleveland Browns first-round pick this season in the Deshaun Watson trade.
Houston will be getting a late-round pick and would they trade that selection for Jaire Alexander? The Texans traded one of their draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Arizona Cardinals. The Texans are trying to make that defense even better and that would be an interesting move for them.
If the Green Bay Packers were to move off Jaire Alexander in the offseason, it would save them a lot of money. Depending on what general manager Brian Gutekunst can get back for him, they will need to draft a cornerback with one of their draft picks this season and maybe high.
