The Green Bay Packers will have to make some tough business decisions this offseason and one of those decisions includes cornerback Jaire Alexander. Alexander missed the final several games of the 2024 NFL season because of a knee injury.
He last played on November 17 against the Chicago Bears. Jaire Alexander missed several games as well during the 2023 NFL season. He is a former first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but there is a chance that the Packers move off of him this offseason.
Yard Barker Staff Predicts That the Green Bay Packers Will Trade Jaire Alexander This Offseason
The Yard Barker staff predicted what will happen this offseason for each NFL team. They predicted the Green Bay Packers would trade the former Louisville Cardinals cornerback this offseason. They said:
“Per NBC Sports’ Kelly Hallinan, Alexander declined to speak much with the media following Green Bay’s wild-card loss to the Eagles, noting he was unsure if he would return to the team in 2025. The two-time second-team All-Pro cornerback would be in high demand on the trade market, potentially going for multiple second and third-round draft picks.”
It would be a huge win for the Packers to unload his contract and get multiple draft picks. If Green Bay just decided to release him instead of trading him, it would also be good because they would be getting rid of his contract. Some NFL teams feel like they still need a cornerback.
Potential Destinations
There is no doubt that there could be several suitors for Alexander. The Miami Dolphins could be one of the teams that could trade for the star cornerback this offseason. A few other teams to watch for are the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Commanders, and the New York Giants.
Alexander is 27 years old and he will turn 28 on Super Bowl Sunday this year. Assuming the Packers make a trade, they have to take the best offer that suits the team.
